The Patricia Storer PAT Award was created to recognize and honor an exceptional PAT who demonstrates achievement and contribution to the core values of Plymouth State University. The award is named in honor of Patricia Storer, who, when she retired from her 28 years of service to PSC in 1991, had held the roles of student, teacher, dean, and throughout it all, mentor. Her enduring positive impact on this campus and on its students, faculty and staff is evident in the people who embody her spirit and inspiration every day. It is that spirit we look for in the 2011 recipient. Previous award recipients are: Frank Cocchiarella (2008), Mary Campbell (2009) and John Clark (2010). The 2011 recipient will be honored at the PAT meeting on Friday, November 4th.
As a reminder, “PAT” is the acronym for the “professional, administrative and technical” staff who are benefited, salaried employees of the University. PATs, operating staff, faculty, principal administrators, students and alumni are all invited and encouraged to nominate. A current list of eligible PATs is attached.
Some criteria for the award are listed to help you choose a candidate; candidates may possess some or all of these criteria:
- Enhances the image and brings great honor and support to the department and/or the University.
- Participates in university activities to a high degree of involvement.
- Provides extraordinary service to the wider community.
- Creates an environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusiveness for all.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the core moral value of environmental sustainability.
- Engages students to participate respectfully and responsibly in a pluralistic society.
- Demonstrates extraordinary commitment to and/or support of scholarship, research & creative endeavor
The nomination form can be accessed by clicking here. Also, the eligible PAT list is available here.
Please submit all nominations by Friday, October 7, 2011 to Diane Jeffrey at firstname.lastname@example.org or MSC 36. Once you have completed the form, please save it and e-mail it back as an attachment. Electronic submissions are preferred, but we will accept paper if you must.
What deserving PAT(s) do you know who should be recognized with this honor?
